. Richard Rodriguez’ parents were of Mexican origin and they were working class immigrants. In his childhood, he had seen that his parents coped up pretty well in America. His father used to have steady works and his mother managed home and both were very optimistic. As the day passed and child Rodriguez turned in an adult one, he felt much embarrassed due to the incapability of his parents to speak English like others. It is mentioned that he could not speak English properly that was embarrassing but to see his parents struggling with English in public places was more embarrassing to him.
